Dried Bulk Black Eyed Peas Organic

Black Eyed Peas have a recognizable black spot on mostly cream-colored skin, and are also known as Cowpeas or Black-Eyed Susans. 

Black Eyed Peas have a great nutritional profile that includes calcium, folate, iron, magnesium, potassium and more, combined with 11g of fiber per cup. 

Cooking Directions: Black Eyed Peas do not have to be soaked, but it will reduce the cooking time if you soak them in hot water for a short time. 

Put dried Black Eyed Peas in a pot and cover with water, bringing to a boil for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let them soak for 60-90 minutes. Drain and refill with fresh, cold water - or if you did not soak them rinse the dried beans and then cover with water.

Bring the beans to a boil in a pot with a covered lid. Cook covered (with the lid slightly tilted for steam), and cook for and hour or so - until tender.
