About Us
Something Better Natural Foods began in 1983 as a small bulk natural foods distributor in Michigan, founded by Tim Healey. Through the 1980s and 1990s, the company built a trusted reputation supplying organic and specialty foods.
In 2000, our current owner joined the team to help grow the mission. After decades of distribution experience, we opened our first retail store in Battle Creek in 2007, bringing our products directly to the local community.
By the mid-2010s, we had fully shifted our focus from wholesale distribution to serving customers through our retail store (while continuing to offer bulk orders for those who needed them).
In 2019, that long-time team member, and his wife, purchased the business, ensuring Something Better Natural Foods remained an independent, locally owned and operated business.
Today, with nearly 40 years of heritage behind us, we remain a local-first, family-run enterprise offering in-store shopping, convenient local pickup, and selective nationwide shipping through our website – all upheld by the same commitment to quality and community that has guided us from the start.
